Hello Arisalign-Users,

We work together on a project  with the university Leipzig and Software AG. The Arisalign had to be the base for the modelling, but on my opinion, there are some features, that could be better.

  1. The Library-function isn't good for big projects, because you can't create folders or something like that.  Normaly if you make interviews to get processes, you will write a lot and such documents, you need to organizing very well. My workaround when I get processes, is to note all important points and archiv it in documents like PDF or DOC.
  2. Feature-Request: View and build a document directly on Arisalign. Like (googleDoc).
  3. Feature-Request: On White-Board would be nice to have a priority-fuction. This could be numbered or colored.
  4. The Discussions-feature could have a Forum-Design and not like a message. It is a nice feel and look function, but i don't like the very small letters.

Nevertheless congratulation for the useful and free ;) tool Arisalign!

Best Regards,

Felipe

Hi Felipe,

Thanks for your input!

All your feature requests above are very reasonable.

I like 1) and 3) in particular.

2) is a nice one, but I feel that this would have a lower priority compared to other things.

Regarding 4) I am not clear what you are looking for. I understand that you don't like the small letters (which could be fixed pretty easily), but I am not sure what else should be changed here. Maybe the middle column that shows the topics should be more narrow to have more space for the topic comments?!

Feel free to keep your input coming!

Thanks,

Thomas

Hello Thomas,

To the point 4, i mean that only the letters of the messages are very small and could be bigger.  I need a maginfying glass to read the messages ;)

Why Arisalign have 3 columns on the Discussions-workspace? Certanly you want to make faster the reading process but this design make thereby the letters very small.

The topic column is on my opinion ok, but the comments on the right column, you really need maginfying glass :)

Best regards,

Felipe

Hello Thomas,

I founded another small problem. If you upload an image into arisalign "Discussion-Forum"and set it as a screenshot, you will get a strange desktop deformation.

Best regards,

Felipe

Hi Felipe,

Thanks for letting me know. I had not seen this one before. I'll make sure we look into it.

Thanks!

1. my first feature request is regarding Collaboration; working together on the same model.

I would like to explain to my invited colleague why I am about to change a part of the model. In other collaboration tools I have options to do quick-chats with the active model still on the screen. Now I had to phone him or abuse activity blocks in the whiteboard for that.

2. my second request is a Zoom in/Zoom out button, especially when working on large models, this would help me a lot.

3. the last request (for now :)) would be an import command to open Aris Express models and edit them with ArisAlign.

Nice beta-phase already tho!

Looking forward to further developments.

regards

Hello Joost,

Thanks for your feedback. This is very helpful!

A chat capability is already planned and I fully agree with you that this is important when doing real-time collaboration.

Zooming is something that we have already started working on and it should be available in a couple of weeks.

ARIS Express models can be imported into ARISalign, but there are limitations:

* The model type has to be BPMN

* The model must have been created in ARISalign first. At first glance this may look like the import is useless, but for a scenario where you start in ARISalign and export the model to ARIS Express for offline modeling it still provides value.

I would be much happier if we could already import every model from ARIS Express into ARISalign and vice versa, but this is going to take some more development.

Kind Regards,

Thomas
