I wan to know the infrastructure requirements needed for migration of ARIS 7.1 to ARIS 9.0 and impact on publishing, customization scripts?
Hello Ankita,
just some aspects:
To migrate your 7.1 databases you need to make an intermediate migration to 7.2.4 first, before you have a supported upgrade path to ARIS 9.x
Any VBS scripts you may have (I'm not sure, if 7.1 still supported them) already don't work anymore in 7.2, where only JavaScript is the scripting language. Hence they also don't work in ARIS 9.
The user management concepts have changed significantly with ARIS 9. While the migration procedures allow a fairly straightforward migration of your databases and user access permissions, there may be some issues to be reviewed that cannot be solved automatically. Due to the changed user management concept the API has also changed in the functions providing user information. So scripts using that API will have to be adapted to work under ARIS 9.
There is also a 2-day training offering from Software AG for migrating from ARIS 7.2.4 to ARIS 9. I don't know about comparable sources for the migration from 7.1 to 7.2.4, that you need to do first. Anyway you have to get in touch with your Software AG representative, since you will need temporary license keys for 7.2.4, which now are only available for such migration projects, but not productive use. He will also be able to give you more detailed information.

Hi,
apparently I was wrong again. The installation guide only describes a migration from "7.2" to 9.x. And as I learned from another post here, problems do occur when trying to upgrade directly from 7.1 to 9.x:

So go via 7.2 first.
