Hi,

This is regarding the documentation links in Solman.

We have recently migrated from one server to another upgrading to ARIS 7.2. The envirnoment is set up and we have sychronisation happening from Solman to ARIS 7.2.

However, it looks like the documentation links in Solman is pointing to the old server address ( aris 7.1 publisher link for older server). hence users are not able to open this as the old server is no more in use.

When checked in ARIS 7.2, the attributes for the SAP documentaion also has the old link address.

Is there a way to update all the documentation links to new links which will point to new server? if so, Can it be done in Solman or ARIS.

Is there any solution to above mentioned problem.

Appreciate any  support on this. Thanks.

Thanks & Regards,

Hi Anupama,

You can try updating the attribute with the standard "replace text attributes" report in ARIS. You should be able to search for the old server as a string and replace it with the new server name.

It is advisable to make backups before running the script as you can not undo the action.

Let us know if it works :)

Thank you,

Francois

Hello Francois,

Thanks a lot for your help. I really appreciate it.

I have run the report selecting the attribute where I need to replace the server name. I have tested it on a test database and looks like I get the attributes ( link) updated with the new name :)

I am looking forward to run this on the production database.

This will resolve the issue on the ARIS end. however for replacing the links (publisher links) in SOLMAN, will there be any bulk update functionality in solman itself or will I have to perform the synch from ARIS to Solman only for link update? will this work? what would be a recommended solution.

SInce I would be performing this synch directly on the production server just wanted to have an opinion on this.

Thanks again.

Best regards,

Anupama

Hello Anupama,

I suggest to use the standard synchronization functionality in synchronization wizard:

1° Go to your business publisher login with anonymous user and open Project model. (First model level to be synchronized towards Solman)

2° Copy the url address of the entry model (Right click ==> Copy link)

3° Go into ARIS Business Architect for SAP and Run Synchronization

4° In last Synchronization wizard screen paste url address in 2 parts

4.1 PArt 1 is the URL address including "modelguid="

4.2 PArt 2 is the model guid

5. Run synchronization

Conclusion:

Your synchronization updates link to business publisher.

KInd regards.

Thanks Benoit.I appreciate your help.

In our current environment we perform the synchronisation only from SolMan to ARIS. I hope with the above steps synchronising from ARIS to SolMan will not change anything else apart from the link info.

I am looking forward to apply these steps in our Prod environment. Thanks.

Regards,

Anupama
