Unable to Connect to ARIS Community Error

It seems like this is a very popular error message, but I am getting the error: Unable to connect to ARIS Community. Please connect to the internet.

I am connected to the internet. We do not have any Proxy settings configured for our browser

In Java, I have tried both: User browser settings & Direct Connection and neither of those worked..

I have read through the installation instructions. And I have read through the (FAQ)

Has anyone been able to find a fix for this or a way around it?

Hmm... did you also tried this, which is also part of the FAQ?

download ARIS Express via: http://download.ariscommunity.com/express.jnlp
do the registration
clear the webstart cache (which will delete the webstart version of express):
1. via your system environment: open "Java"
2. first page: temporary internet files, settings, click "delete all"
install the windows executable if not done yet, and start Express
