I will show you the necessary steps with an example from a company of the discrete manufacturing branch.
Every IPR project starts with a customer-specific ARIS database which is synchronized with SAP Solution Manager, comprising all standards for project execution.
Step 1: Scope your project on Level 1 & 2 … and add new requirements.
You define in ARIS for SAP database which processes are necessary for your SAP implementation project.
Step 2a: Project – Initialization
- Check your project Scope (ARIS Level 1 and 2 from Quotation Process)
- Adapt ARIS project landscape to customer what means that additional processes will be modeled in ARIS for SAP

Adapt processes to customer specific requirements (ARIS Level 3)
Based on your fixed scope, you now synchronize your defined ARIS landscape with SAP Solution Manager. The business processes from ARIS lead to the process structure in SAP Solution Manager.
Step 2c: Project – Workshop
- SHOW: your Processes (ARIS Level 3)
- RUN: Best Practice Processes in your SAP system
- DELTA: Discussion of changes and synchronize these changes again with SAP Solution Manager
