CD

Hi,

Can anyone explain to me the use of SQL Anywhere in ARIS? We have a client that is using the standard ARIS DB system, SQL Anywhere is creating huge temporary files on a daily basis (when the automatic backups are running) and from some reasons these files are not deleted, meaning it is taking up harddisk space on the ARIS server.

Any notes or tips regarding the usage and management of SQL Anywhere will be helpfull. Will this also occurs if the client use SQL Server as the database system foro ARIS?

Thank you

Ciska

Dear Ciska,

I can only give you the answer for Oracle. In our case, the Oracle Server is a separate Server-Instance. Every month our Oracle Team needst to do some kind of "Full Vacuum Analyze" in order to keep the Oracle Server Data Files in the right size. Besides this we need a restart of the ARIS service anyways from time to time, since the connections get sometimes lost. So we decides to do that at the same time. Once a month at Sundays between 1 and 3 PM :)

Best regards,

Levin Brunner
