DG

Yesterday I installed the app and started it fine - I was able to see the MashApps and open the GreenCar, change the region etc.

 

Today I can't get it to start; I get a blank explorer page; ' waiting for ChrisPC:16330...' ;there seems to be a problem with Tomcat:

Also,  I don't know how to paste a screenshot into this log

java.util.logging.ErrorManager: 4

...filenotfoundexception...logs\host-manager.2009-10-14.log (Access is denied)

SEVERE: Exception looking up UserDatabase under key UserDatabase

... naming exception...conf\tomcat-users.xml.ne (Access is denied)

Any suggestions?

Hi David,

the log fragments you post clearly indicate an error during the server startup. But this is difficult for me to check without looking onto the system itself. I'll talk to the developers and check.

You may insert screenshots into your posts by using a button from this editor's toolbar.

In the dialog there is even an upload feature where you can select images locally and sent them to the community server.

Categories in fact aren't important but ARIS Support might fit.

Hi David,

the problem you discribe sounds very uncommon. Where did you see the error messages you posted?

During MashZone installation which setup procedure did you choose? Default or Advanced?

You may start all over by uninstall and reinstall MashZone.

Uninstall and re-install resolves the problem, until it occurs again.

It seems that when Tomcat starts it opens a window which it leaves open if there are any errors during the execution.  That window is where I found the log including the error messages.

I used Default setup.

I did not use a proxy server.

Note – help suggests that the proxy server option is disabled if there is not preset proxy server. I had no preset proxy server but the dialog box opened with the check box set – I cleared it.

HELP: ‘Configure proxy server

You can specify a proxy server to establish an Internet connection for ARIS MashZone if required. For example, if you want to use data feeds or graphics from the Internet in MashApps, you must set a proxy server if there is no direct Internet connection. Note If a proxy server is already configured in your Windows system, the Use proxy option is enabled and the Address and Port of the proxy server are preset. If there is no preset proxy server, the option is disabled. Ask your system administrator for the address and port of your proxy server.’   Later,   ERROR 1085   I clicked on data sources (new data feed / source) It took a while but the data feed screen eventually displayed ‘Error 1085’ in a pop-up. Then the login screen re-appeared.  

Would it be possible to give me a script that refreshes the ..catalina.. folder / data so I don't have to do a full uninstall / re-install?

Actually I cannot see why the proxy server should be involved. You may send us your system's logfiles? You find them inside a subdirectory of your installation: system\tomcat\logs. If you would ZIP this folder and send it to me we could investigate your problem.
