DB

Hello all,

I am having some issues installing the Design Server using a MSSQL configuration on a Windows OS.  I believe I followed the ARIS Server Installation and Administration Guide on setting up a MSSQL server, however I am receiving the attached error near the end of the installation.

I've attached the envset.bat file I am using (copied from the guide), in case there are any noticeable errors in it.

The installation does successfully install the ARIS Cloud Controller, Start ARIS Design Server, and Stop ARIS Design Server applications; and I am able to start 10 of the 12 instances using the Cloud Controller.  However, 2 of the instances do not start (see ACC attachment).

There was no file generated named 'ARIS_Install_log.txt', contrary to what was stated in the error message.

My questions are as follows:

1. Which portion of the installation process could have been messed up, in order to cause the "abs_s" and "copernicus_s" instances to not start?

2. When installing the ARIS database according to the guide (pg.24), is there anyway to check that the database was installed correctly? The only response I receive is a command prompt that quickly disappears after running inst.bat.

Any response is very appreciated.  Should there be any additional information which will be useful, please let me know and I will try my best to provide it.

Thank you very much!

Please check if ARIS9 user has impersonate rights on ARIS9_CIP_MASTER and ARIS9_CIP_DEFAULT] users. If not, please run the below SQL stmts:

GRANT IMPERSONATE ON USER::ARIS9_CIP_MASTER TO [ARIS9] GRANT CREATE TABLE TO [ARIS9_CIP_MASTER] GRANT CREATE VIEW TO [ARIS9_CIP_MASTER] GRANT CREATE FUNCTION TO [ARIS9_CIP_MASTER] GO

GRANT IMPERSONATE ON USER::ARIS9_CIP_DEFAULT TO [ARIS9] GRANT CREATE TABLE TO [ARIS9_CIP_DEFAULT] GRANT CREATE VIEW TO [ARIS9_CIP_DEFAULT] GRANT CREATE FUNCTION TO [ARIS9_CIP_DEFAULT] GO

Pavan,

Thank you for the advice, however I am still having issues.  I was able to properly set up the ARIS database in MSSQL, but I am still having issues   I checked the rights for ARIS9, and it did not have they required rights.  I ran the statements, and was able to give ARIS9 the proper rights.  After running the install again, I am still not able to successfully setup the server.

I've managed to find the install log, and I have attached that, as well as server setup specifications from the installation process.  Are there any elements in these two items which might help identify where the issue is occurring?

Thank you very much for your help!
