Could someone let me know what is the best practice in structuring the navigation bar so that it is as intuitive as possible? Should every model have a folder of its own?
I have created folders in say level 4 based on the functions in level 3. Then in level 5 I have created folders based on functions in level 4. I have ended up with a folder for every model......is this the best way of structuring the navigation bar?
Yes, I always recommend to do this. At first this seems to be a huge effort, but when you have everything in place you will see that the structure is -relatively- stable.
Structuring your DB that way allows you to find stuff more easily since the ARIS GUID (the internal ID that ARIS uses to keep track of models and objects) and the path are the two most important information when looking for something or define responsibilities.
Yes, that's correct. What you also might want to do is to create one or more start models for your different end user groups that provide them an entry point to your hierarchy without the need to follow the navigation tree structure. Look at the Demo DB in your ARIS installation for an example start model.
