Hi
I have successfully installed ARIS Express Beta1.0. But cannot get past the "enter login data" dialog. Checking user name and password does not link to IDS Scheer for verification.
Using Java V6 Build 15. Windows XP.
My IT department have verified, proxy settings etc.

Hi Greg,
just for your information: here are the frequently asked questions about the download: www.ariscommunity.com/aris-express/installation-faq
The problem is that Express creates a HTTPS connection to our server in order to check your account. I see two possible problems:
1.) the proxy settings are correct for HTTP, but not for (secure) HTTPS. Please assure that also.
2.) the proxy/firewall does not allow the connect.
Bye,
Frank
Hi,
one additional remark again: if your proxy requires user authentification, let say NTLM, then it might be possible that the request is blocked by your proxy. Express just opens a HTTPS connection without specifying name and password. If that request is blocked, the password account check ist not possible.
We try to find a solution for this.
Bye,
Frank
Hi Frank
My IT department have verified
1, the proxy settings are correct for HTTP, but not for (secure) HTTPS. Please assure that also. OK
2, the proxy/firewall does not allow the connect. Allows HTTPS OK
So agree the issue is with "Express just opens a HTTPS connection without specifying name and password. If that request is blocked, the password account check ist not possible."
Is there a way of enabling the application manualy? Without going via the internet?
Regards Greg
Hi Greg.
I feel a bit unpleasant to tell, but currently, not. We cross checked with proxy installations here and the JRE normally requests the password. Right for now, we think this only happens if a certain Proxy (Windows using NTLM) is used.
We are working on this, but right now, there is no way to enabling the application without internet connection.
Bye,
Frank
