Hi again,

After the interesting webcast of Sven and Ann on ASAP Roadmap 7.0, I decided to develop a useful business add-on. Based on the Excel with the standard project WBS, which I took from the ASAP library and I slightly modified, I created a MashApp that will give project managers an immediate overview of the project health. Filters are available for project phase, project thread and deliverable status.

Feel free to extend it to your personal needs!

CU,

Gerard

Oops - the attachment was lost. The MashApp and required data feeds and other resources are in the zip-file

Hi Gerard-I could access the WBS Excel spreadsheet but could not access the integrated Dashboard - how do I access the Dashboard?

 Hi Arnold,

You should use ARIS MashZone. It's downloadable from www.mashzone.com. A key for the Free Edition is downloadable from your profile page at ariscommunity. However, to have the capability of importing MashApps like these, you need the Personal or Professional edition. See for further details the MashZone site.

Gerard

Thanks Gerard - As a registered User (Free Edition) I accessed the MashZone and downloaded the ASAP 7.0.zip file. As I mentioned in my earlier note, when I unzipped the file I could access all the files in the; importexport folder, & resources folder (not too sure what the .mzp files are) but could not see a consolidated Dashboard - are you assuming that the relevant files must be integrated by me to establish a Dashboard view?

Please assist.

Regards,

Arnold

Is there a way to extract the detailed WBS of ASAP 7.0 and import it to MS Project 2007?

The .mzp files are the MashApp and its data feed. You need the import functionality in MashZone in order to import the MashApp into MashZone. Unfortunately the Free edition does not have this import functionality.

As far as I am aware you can import a WBS from Excel into MSProject. Last time I tried was with older versions of Excel/Project, so I assume 2007 will do the job as well. Please be aware that the Excel WBS and other ASAP 7.0 deliverables can be downloaded from SDN: www.sdn.sap.com/irj/sdn/index

Looks great except the pie chart for 'status of deliverables' will not display.  I can make it sort of show the data points, but not the actual pie chart.  Strange.

Hi Donald,

I tried to import the mashapp on another laptop, and it seemed to work correctly.

The only potential issue I can think of is that the xls, pictures etc should be unzipped into the ...\ARIS MashZone\resources\ASAP 7.0 folder. Hope this helps.
