Hi Experts,
I have another question.
Can I connect/assign an end event to a new start event although the two events are in diffrent BPMN models ?
So that I can "jump" from one BPMN model to the next when I doubleclick on the end event.
I still use ARIS 7.2
Thank you for your help
Kind regards
May
Hello Max,
sure you can assign the following model to the end event and the previous model to the start event. However this does not tie the two processes together logically in a BPMN sense.
How about this idea: Use "end message event" and "start message event" respectively. Then let the "end message event" produce a message. Let the "start message event" in the following process consume an occurrence of the same message. Then assign both models to the message. And there you are: In whichever model you double-click on the message's assignment symbol it takes you to the other model - and it's nice BPMN, too.
This should work independently from the ARIS version. (>= 7.2). If any of this does not work, enquire with your method owner about the filter or use the Entire method filter.

Hello Max,
Only after digesting my first thought, one more thing, if you want to die in beauty: In collaboration diagrams, model the process in a pool named the same as the process model (not required, but recommended against confusion), then represent the respectively other process as a black box pool, which is an occurrence copy of the pool from the other process. And then you model the black box pools as the receiver of the message (in the earlier process) and as sender of the message (in the later process). Now instead of assigning the models to the message, just assign each pool with the model that describes the respective process represented by the pool.
Now, ain't that beauty? ;-)
