Hi all,
I have been modeling EPCs in ARIS 7.2 for a few months now. I was wondering how to use the connection type "accepts". Can it be used to represent "receiver", instead of creating a "receiving function" and assigning an actor to it? In the attached image of my attempt, the MD is carrying out the function , and the Finance Section only needs to be informed of it.
Hi,
Connections between organizational elements and functions should be seen in context of the RACI matrix that can be shown as a view to a process in the Connect Portal.
The 'accepts' connection is mapped to the 'A' (Accountable) in this matrix.
Accountable (definition)
The one ultimately answerable for the correct and thorough completion of the deliverable or task, and the one who delegates the work to those responsible. In other words, an accountable must sign off (approve) work that responsible provides. There must be only one accountable specified for each task or deliverable.
To describe the 'I' (Informed) we use the following connections:
- must be informed about
- must be informed on cancellation
Informed (definition)
Those who are kept up-to-date on progress, often only on completion of the task or deliverable; and with whom there is just one-way communication
The following list shows the connection base types that should be used to describe connections considering the RACI aspects:
Connection base types:
----------------------
responsible:
carries out
accountable
decides on
accepts
consulted
is technically responsible for
has consulting role in
informed
must be informed about
must be informed on cancellation
