We are running ARIS Version 7.1.0.478722 on Windows Server 2008 Standard Edition 64 bit connecting to a SQL Server 2008 database server.
2 ARIS databases:
Shoprite Architecture (Prod environment)
Shoprite Architecture Modeling (Pre-Prod environment)
Both databases using the same template and filter.
When I UPDATE the existing ARIS production database Shoprite Architecture, it updates successfully with message in Information Window: “The export was updated.”
Various unrelated models give me give me this problem when I drag them over (I attempted one model at a time) from the pre-prod database called Shoprite Architecture Modeling to the prod database Shoprite Architecture using the MERGE function (logged on with system user), I get this message right at the end of the progress bar in an error window: “The procedure was canceled.” Some of the models did merge and updated the publication successfully, but for some unexplained reason a large amount of models merge successfully, but break the publication export during update. I’ve looked at the models individually and can see no reason why it should give problems: correct model type, correct objects and connections between for model type and filter used, no duplicate objects.
If I investigate the log files on the server, I get this error message from C:\Program Files\ARIS7.1\BPServer\tomcat\logs\stdout file:
“cannot execute DDL statement: CREATE UNIQUE INDEX e89_modelattr_1 ON e89_modelattr (ParentItemId,AttrTypeNum,LocaleId,TypeGUID) ON ARISBPINDEX
java.sql.SQLException: The CREATE UNIQUE INDEX statement terminated because a duplicate key was found for the object name 'ARISBPDATA.e89_modelattr' and the index name 'e89_modelattr_1'. The duplicate key value is (1152921749420033466, 2773, 1033, <NULL>).”
On page 3 of the Publication configuration under Templates, it has got “No Template” selected.
We are not using versioning/change lists.
If I delete the problematic model, the update of the Publisher export works perfectly again.
Also, if I now try to update the existing publication on the pre-prod database Shoprite Architecture Modeling, which has worked perfectly a couple of months ago, I get the same error.
I haven’t updated the Publisher exports on either one of these databases for quite a while, and we upgraded (non major versions) ARIS twice in the last two months. So this is the first time since then that I’ve tried the update.
Has anyone encountered this error before? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
