Hi
I have been having several problems trying to access documents with ARIS Express. Each time i try I have to go through the activation wizard and then once i'm logged in I then get an error message with the following detail:
Mon Apr 12 15:55:16 CEST 2010: Unable to run ARIS. Error while setting up the server environment.
com.idsscheer.aris.expresslauncher.AExpressLauncher.extractServerEnvironment(AExpressLauncher.java:284)
com.idsscheer.aris.expresslauncher.AExpressLauncher.startServer(AExpressLauncher.java:406)
com.idsscheer.aris.expresslauncher.AExpressLauncher.access$200(AExpressLauncher.java:57)
com.idsscheer.aris.expresslauncher.AExpressLauncher$3.run(AExpressLauncher.java:394)
java.lang.Thread.run(Unknown Source)
Can you help here please?
Thanks
Paul
Hi,
there happens an error during setting up the configuration. Currently, this is under investigation and should be solved in the next update of express.
Please do the following step:
1.) Close Express.
2.) Open the Windows Explorer and navigate to your user profile: "C:\documents and settings\<your user>\ARISExpress"
3.) delete the folder "server"
4.) start Express again.
Does that work?
In addition: in the folder "C:\documents and settings\<your user>\ARISExpress\log" there are some files. Could you attach them to this post?
Bye,
Frank
OK, this is strange... you cannot open the file?
Maybe the download was broken... so please clear the webstart cache completely (system panel -> java -> temporary internet files -> settings -> delete) and delete also the user.cfg
You will need to go through the registration wizard again.
BTW: any information, which system, which JRE version etc is used?
Bye,
Frank
Hi
I have finally managed to get through my server environment problem but now i have another!! When i try and open a document i get an error message stating: 'File name too long' (even when the file name is one letter long!)
Any ideas on how I can resolve this??
Thanks
Hi,
without a closer look, this is not possible to solve.
What you can do is:
1.) have a look into the folder containing log fils:
C:\documents and settings\<your user>\ARISExpress\log
and
C:\documents and settings\<your user>\ARISExpress\server\log
2.) zip those files and attach them to your post (If you edit the first post, you've got the possibility to attach files).
I'll check, then. Hope I find something.
Bye,
Frank

Hi Mr Jhonson,
this is a java bug:
http://www.java.net/external?url=http://bugs.sun.com/bugdatabase/view_bug.do?bug_id=6967414
It should normally not have any influence in deleting this folder, this would be new to us. We'll have an eye on this.
Bye,
Frank
