Hello everyone,

I am using ARIS Business Architect 8.0!

If I want to enlarge a pool / lane, which is part of a subprocess, an error message appears.

It says: It is forbidden, to place the object at this location!

Also it isn't possible to place new lanes, if the subprocess is already linked to another process.

Maybe somebody has some helping ideas!

Best regards

Anton!

Hello Anton,

you will not find many users of the 8.0 version here. This version was not marketed. However here is the answer, which does not depend on the ARIS version, but on BPMN restrictions.

As a general rule a sub-process is depicted in a BPMN Process diagram. That does not allow Pools at all. So that is the reason, why you cannot use Pools. I don't know, how you managed to get the Pool into the sub-process in the first place. I tested this in 7.2. Also a sub-process is not intended to have Lanes, since it should show inside the sub-process symbol in its expanded version, where neither Pools nor Lanes are allowed. Please read the BPMN 2.0 specification chapter 10.3.5 for further details on sub-processes.
