Issue:

Whenever users download ARIS web-client,  they are required to enter client license key. They request for license keys through email which delays our activity. However subsequently when they access ARIS reposiroty through web-client they no longer need to enter license key.

We have enteprise un-limited client license, we want to configure ARIS such that users are not required to enter licensing information during first time setup. And when they download web-client fisrt time or subsequently, they would not be required to enter client license key.

Version: ARIS Business Server 7.2

You can create a predefined user.cfg and copy it to C:\Program Files\ARIS7.2\server\html\config\oem01

In this file, the following has to be included:

<user type="license">

<userdata type="key" value="HashOfLicenseKey"/>

</user>

You can find these lines in the user.cfg of a client which has already used the license key. It is (normaly) located in C:\Users\SomeUser\ARIS72 (on Windows 7).

After restarting the server the user.cfg will also be downloaded to the client.

I haven't worked with Oracle BPA yet. From where do you have the information, that it is open source?

Oracle BPA Suite is not OpenSource. They just provide an evaluation version free of charge. Please check the license requirements of Oracle very carefully. I'm not sure if you are allowed to use BPA Suite in a product environment if you don't have a valid license.

Hi Sebastian and Christian,

sebastian is absolutely correct.They provide evaluation version free of charge for 90 days.

After the evaluation period,we need to purchase the whole product from edelivery.oracle.com.

 By "open source" i meant to proposed that oracle provides free verison of oracle bpa for 90 days

atleast  which IDS scheer or software AG doesn't provide for ARIS...:):)

I have worked on ARIS 7.1 and presently working on oracle bpa.:)...

Regards

Dinesh

Hi Dinesh,

thanks for clarifying the Oracle license.

Yes, Software AG is not providing public free of charge evaluation licenses. However, if you want to evaluate one of our products, make sure to get in touch with a local sales representative and he will find a way to support you in your evaluation.
