Some minutes ago, we uploaded the beta version of ARIS Express. Please head over to the beta tester group for details. There, you will find:
- download link
- installation instructions
- instruction how to report bugs
- list of system requirements
- list of frequently asked questions (FAQ)
- list of known issues
Please share with us your experience on using ARIS Express!
Hi Anandh,
please follow the instructions given here to report a bug. Please also check the FAQ, because your problem smells like wrong proxy settings for Java.
Regards,
Sebastian
@Anandh: There is no setup file. It is not an ordinary Windows application. Java takes care of installing it in its cache directory. Also note, it is not possible (and also not allowed by the license) to transfer it from one PC to another. So every user must download and install it on his own. Also, every user needs an ARIS Community account.
Regards,
Sebastian
Hallo,

Hi Sebastian,
I've downloaded the package. Seems to be working for the design part.
Have a few remarks:
- where to put the content on an icon
meaning: a process, an activity, a role, an organisational unit has a meaning to exist
==> I like to manage these descriptions into 1 tool, is this possible
- am I able to launch a query on a process, role, and so on to know what's the impact if I'm changing a process ?
- software is extremely slow comparing to BPVA or others
What's not stable / not operational:
- generating a report in nomatter what kind of output
Kind regards

Hi Patrick,
thanks for testing ARIS Express. You are reporting several issues. Let's try to divide them a little bit.
I don't understand your first point about where to put the content? Are you looking for attributes to store additional descriptions? Or do you want to link an external document to an object? In both cases, right click the object, select properties and open the attribute section. You can also view the attributes of a model/object by selecting from the main menu the entry View -> Attributes.
Your next point is about own queries. ARIS Express does not support custom reports. This is a feature, which is only available in the professional tools.
You note, that the software is slow. Can you please be more specific? What takes long? It might be that you are experiencing a problem, which is related to a certain Java version. We need more details to track down the problem.
Finally, you mention that generating the output does not work. Please provide more details so that we can debug it.
Thanks,
Sebastian

I have read all the FAQ, configured the proxy for java in all the ways possible, "use the browser", Manual, etc.
My Java version is 1.6.0_16
I don't understand why i get the error i can browse, java can update and i don't have any restrictions in my proxy server.
What can i do?
Thanks in advance for your help.
BR
Alejandro
H Alejandro,
it seems that the JRE is not allowed to connect to the community.
Could you open the Java panel (in system panel, if you use Windows). On the first page, in network settings, if you already set "use browser settings", you can also try "direct connection.
Does this help?
Bye,
Frank
Hallo!
Was Du machen kannst ist folgendes:
Rolf
