From time to time we receive emails by users reporting that they are either not able to register at ARIS Community or to login after they registered. So far, all of those reports are caused by the following problems:
- On registration an invalid email address is entered. Each day, we receive more than 10 notifications about wrong email addresses. If possible, we try to correct them, for example changing “...@gamil.com” into “...@gmail.com”. If we can’t figure out the correct email address, we delete the account and hope that people will try again.
- Login to ARIS Community fails if you enter your email address as login and not your username. Therefore, the field has a default value saying “username”. Still, this hint stays unnoticed by some users. We are currently checking if we can show a warning message in case someone entered an email address as login and the login failed.
- During registration, an activation email is sent to you to validate your email address. Some email providers classify this email as spam. If you are not receiving the email within seconds after submitting your registration, check the spam folder and mark the email as not being spam.

We are planning to roll out a patch that will display the username in the profile overview in order to clarify that matter.
EDIT: Everybody can now look up their usernames on their own profile pages.

I am currently going through the ARIS activation wizard steps.
Step 3 asks you to enter "the user name logging into the ARIS community"
I have entered these details (Username / password) & get a "Enter logon Data" popup, saying "checking username and password". This has been running for 30 mins plus.
Note: I have registered, received my email & updated my password & logged into the ARIS community

normally, this thread here is about registration in the community itsself. It is not mentioned to the registration of Express.
Anyway:
Normally, this takes two or three seconds. But Express is not able to connect to the community to check your account. This has a simple technical reason: it is just not allowed for Express to do so.
Could you please check the proxy settings in your JRE (via system panel -> Java). You should check "use browser settings".
If that does not work, you need to talk to your IT. Sometimes, security policies do not allow the Java Runtime Environment to connect to the internet. Important: this is an HTTPS call, in order to crypt your logging data.

Hi, I'm new here and I need some help. I'm trying to install Aris Express on Mac OS 10.8.3 but it doesn't work. I've already installed the latest version of Java and when I try to download express.jnlp it comes up the message Ït's not possible to run the application". Does anybody know how to fix it? I have registered with Aris and I got my registration details with the password. I am starting the program and enter my loginname and my password which was specified in the email.
However, after a short period I receive the following message

I am connected to the internet since i am typing this message. We are using a Proxy and the settings are correct otherwise i could not type the message.
So what do you think is the problem. Of course from our machines is internet communication only via port 80 allowed. Could this be the issue ?
I would really like to test the program since we are in urgent need of such a tool. But since i can not log in we will not be able to test it.
Help would be appriciated.

Well, Express uses an HTTPS connection, which means, that port 443 is used.
Another issue could be your proxy. If you use the windows installation, you could try the webstart (alternative download) solution as well. If the registration works here, just deinstall, the webstart solution again, registration check will be kept.

Hi, I am trying to login to start the program for the first time and I have problems loging in. The user name and password I am typing are correct and also I have internet connection. My port 443 is open and I reinstalled the program a few times.
I would really like to implement this program to my company, but there is no other way unless I give it a try and test the features.

When entering my login data into ARIS express after several fails i've tried 4 different options eventually. My 1.email, 2. my name, 3. my name+surname and 4.Mr. name+surname, but it didn't work unfortunately. Could you please help me?
