ARIS MashZone 2.0 has been released recently. One of the new features is ARIS Business Server connectivity. This enables you to analyze and visualize everything from your ARIS repository. All you need is a report, even existing ones can be reused. And, of course, you need the latest release of ARIS, i.e. version 7.1 SR 8.
Enjoy this high resolution 720p HD video to learn how to read from ARIS using MashZone or watch it directly embedded into the article.
Hi Stephan,
great video. I am sure ARIS users will be interested in putting Mashzone on top of ARIS. Here you can find some example mashups based on data out of the ARIS repository: http://www.mashzone.com/en/gallery
Have a look at the GRC, the EA and the Strategy mashup.
Cheers

Hi Stephan,
we are thinking to propose an integrated view with kpi that comes from Aris PPM or other sources and process graphs coming from Aris BA or at least Aris Web Pubblisher. A mashup of process graph and kpi indicators could be very effective.

Konstantin held a webinar on Enterprise Architecture where he demonstrates how MashZone interacts with the ARIS repository. There are slides and a recording of his live demo.
Daniele,
currently the ARIS Business Server connectivity does transport tabular data only. Accessing bitmaps or graphs is not supported (yet). However, if there was an ARIS report which outputs graphs to image-files (png/jpg) MashZone could display them. The drawback: Graphs remain static in MashZone - you cannot hover a function, for instance, to inspect its details.

Stephan
Hello Ignacio,
sorry about the delay, I lost the update notification on this thread. The report scheduling requires a Business Server installation. Running the server locally, from within ABA, does not work. Additionally a windows service called "ARIS Service Enablement" must be up and running.

Stephan
Hello Stephan,
Thank you for the great information. I've been trying to get Mashzone working with ARIS and yours is the only information I can find.
I have a question that perhaps you can answer. I have the following:
* ARIS Service Enablement service running
* MashZone professional
* ARIS Business Server - separate DB on a separate SQL server
* ARIS Business Architect & IT Architect
I setup a "sheduled report" with a valid username and password. When I try to display the content, I get an "Incorrect password" error - from within MashZone, I get "401 - unauthorised". Do you perhaps know what I have/am doing wrong?

Hi Stephan,
I finally have my ARIS 7.2 and my MashZone 2.2 (Pro) environments up and running and I am excited to begin creating MashUps of my process model data. I am attempting to access scheduled reports located on the ARIS Business Server. Both the ARIS Business Server and MashZone are installed on the same Windows 2008 x64 server with TCP Port 7071 open.
I have verified that the MashZone link is pasted (from ARIS 7.2 "MashZone link") in correctly into my MS Excel file data source. The default user and password has been used, which also has access to the Business Server.
I receive the following error:
Unable to establish connection to resource "http://<servername>:7071/aris/services/mashZone/04f20c50-5bdc-11e1-49bd-f4e0ca99ad42". Status "500 - Internal Server Error" is returned.
At first I assumed that it was a firewall issue but after opening up the firewall entirely I am still receiving the error.
Do you have any suggestions as to where I could further troubleshoot my lack of connectivity to the Business Server from my MashZone data feed?
Cheers,
Tad
Hi
I have IT Architect 7.1.0.508938 (SR 2010_08) which I run predominantly against local server
Can you advise if the Mashzone integration work against this?
I see from the online shop there is a 1-2 and 3+ user license for the required pro edition - would either work (subject to query above)
Thanks
Julian
Hi Kushal,
I'm sorry but I'm actually not working with ARIS any longer. I have since moved to a new company and now use a different tool for enterprise architecture (Avolution ABACUS). I have not used ARIS for just over a year now and no, I didn't get a resolution to the issue I raised.... I would suggest contacting a local SI for ARIS - or Software AG directly, for a resolution. Kind Regards, Col
