We have a large number of models where we have Documented Knowledge Objects which have a link to a document that sits in a file share.
When creating a publisher export, I have noticed that the content of the documents always gets copied into a BLOB field in the database used by Business Publisher. Irrespective if I have set the "copy documents" property in the publisher profile to true or false.
Question 1: Is there any way of making sure documents are not copied. Many of the documents are very large (many high resolution pictures and detailed drawings), so it slows down the export and takes up unnecessary space in the database.
Question 2: In the case when the documents are copied to the publisher database, can I somehow configure the Business Publisher search engine to also search content in the documents (most documents are PDF format) rather than only searching the data sitting directly in model or object attributes?
Thanks for any input on these items.
Question 1:
Thanks for the swift reply.
In "view-options-Publisher export profiles" I am only able to find a single check box: "Copy documents" for this purpose, or am I missing something? My findings are that all documents which are linked to objects in my models are copied to a BLOB field in the database, regardless of whether I tick this box or not...
Question 1:
This copying procedure was changed in SR2. So only if you check the button "Copy Document" the documents will be copied. Result is, that when you change this option during "Edit Export" the system has to transfer the documents so it is possible that this procedure will take longer as in former version.
Kind regards
Stefan
