Hi,
I'm getting the exception attached when clicking on the Web-Start (express.jnlp) link. Java version: Version 8 Update 131, 32bit. It does work on a different machine. It's not a general problem with Java WebStart because I can launch other WebStart applications on my machine.
Any ideas?
Thanks!
Thomas
Hi,
I expect you are a Mac user (otherwise, you would not need to start the webstart version).
Maybe during the download, something went wrong or the amount of space in the "temporary file settings" for the virtual machine was too small..
Could you clear your webstart cache and download again?
Bye,
Frank
Actually, I'm trying to use WebStart because I'm not allowed to install anything on the machine provided by the customer, which is running Windows 7.I've already tried clearing the WebStart cache (to no avail), the available space for temporary files is set to the maximum of 32768 MB.
BTW, I did get this to run on another machine at the same customer about 2 years ago.
Hi,
according to the customer's service desk, this is a firewall issue involving a protection against a Java security issue that cannot easily be turned off. As a work-around, I've copied an instance of ARIS Express installed on another machine (Windows installer), this worked out of the box.
