This is why I choose to update Java to "Java 7.7 build 1.7.0_07-b11" with Windows XP, but the problem remains the same.

What should I do to solve my problem?

Trying all possible solutions I have in mind, the simple one is to clear the Java cache memory and then try to reinstall ArisExpress.

Hi,

I had problems using Java v7. A downgrade to the latest Java v6 solved my problems.

Regards

I simply deleted the cache and then reinstalled Aris

Thanks in advance,

Hi JF,

clear the Java cache is simple:

  1. Click Start -> Control Panel
  2. Search Java in Search Control Panel box usually on top right of Control Panel window.
  3. Double-click the Java icon in the control panel and the Java Control Panel appears.
  4. Click Settings under Temporary Internet Files
  5. Click Delete Files
  6. The Delete Temporary Files dialog box appears and click OK on Delete Temporary Files window.  Note: This deletes all the Downloaded Applications and Applets from the cache
  7. Click OK on Temporary Files Settings window.

If this does not work I suggest to download the new version of Java from the Website, install it and then download ArisExpress again (+install it).

I'm not a tech too, other suggestions/comments are appreciated.

However JF, please tell me if my procedure works.

Veronica,

your procedure went perfectly well!

I had the installation process going up to the end in a few minuts and ARIS express is now 'integrated in the desktop', I suppose this means it's reacheable through an icon on the main W7 menu...

One more point, if I may abuse of your great expertise : is-tu possible to change the default location of ARIS express files, ie, it has been assigned on C:\Users\JFC\Documents\ARIS Express?

In order to facilitate and speed backup process, I load all my users data on my D:/ disk : if possible could-you explain where I can change this default location?

Many Thanks again,

JF
