ARIS Business Simulator - Queue theory? Stochastic start event frequency?

Hi all,

At the moment I'm writing an essay for my studies about the ARIS Business Simulator. Because of that I'd like to know how the ARIS Business Simulator simulates exactly. Does the queuing theory underly the simualiton? Are there any documents, books or something else concerning this issue?

Also, I wonder if there is a possibility to use stochastic frequencies for the start event (I use EPC). Till now I only found the solution to use fixed frequencies (only x times a day, week, ...) or a schedule.
