Help > ARIS Express > Change model > Insert space

Insert space

You can insert an empty, or to be more precise, an object-free area into your model in order to increase the width and/or the height of the modeling area.

The following procedure shows how to insert horizontal space in order to create space between two objects arranged directly beside each other. The same procedure applies for inserting vertical space.

Procedure

  1. Click on Insert/Remove space (left/right).
  2. In the model window, click on the position starting from which you want to insert a space (from left to right), and hold the mouse button down.
  3. Drag the visible line to the right and release the mouse button at the position where you want to stop inserting space.

The model items positioned within the area indicated by the start and end lines are placed to the right of the end line. The connections are adjusted.
