Hi guys,
I'm working on a big database with several clients and I need to share the data with them. I can share with each of them only the portion of the database which they are responsible for. Does anyone know if it is possible to make a partial backup of the database (f.i. only some folders)?
Thanks a lot for your support in advance.
AC
Hi,
you can do an XML export on the group containing those models you'd like to share. The client creates a database and imports the xml file you send him. He can do changes and - afterwards - exports everything, send it to you and you import it.
But I think, the best way would be
1.) you host a server for them
- or -
2.) create an own database for each customer.
The problem is, that, if you just have one database for all, and you do a mistake in the export, other customers could possibly see data from others.
Bye,
Frank
Hi Frank,
thanks again. I did some tries on my Local with 2 old backup of the database and it seems working.
I have to be sure that the client will import the XML in an empty database, because I've seen that, even if you I don't export assignment and connection, ARIS recognizes the path and can open the flowcharts with assignment already placed in the database. In fact at the end, I've deleted all the folders in one of the backup database and I've imported the XML, the flowcharts hadn't assignment to others flowcharts anymore.
So, thanks a lot for the suggestions and collaboration.
Bye
