The reporting features offer just a glimpse of their potential value. I have two questions.

1)how can I include my entire model, with assigned related EPC diagrams, into the reports? Right now I can only get the same 4 page PDF report with the current model, no linked information.

And 2) why are the reports in PDF format only? How can I edit the output to shape it better to my needs?  It would be a real shame to provide the tools to collect all this information without tools to adequately get information out (robust reporting).

It is coming down to the wire to choose a BPM tool and documentation is a priority. I am flustered that Process Live is so powerful at creating models and yet has extremely limited reporting capabilities. Can someone please help me out...?

1) is there a way to include my *entire* process model using the 'Create Process Manual' report? Currently it only reports on the current model and does not cascade to linked models.

2) is there a way to modify these reports, for example output them as MSWord documents rather than PDF?

I look forward to your input. Thank you.

The current version of Process Live includes a number of standard non-editable reports.  'Create Process Manual' will only report on the current model in PDF - other output formats are unfortunately not supported.

However I am sure the reporting features will improve over time - prioritized by popular demand.

I would suggest you log your feature request via the  'bug report and feature request' form available at www.ariscommunity.com/process-live.

Thomas,

Thank you for your reply. I requested three items (publish full model including all related models and subprocesses, publish to different destinations besides PDF such as MSWord, SharePoint and Wiki, and control the output format to match my company documentation standards). Hopefully these can get some attention - I need to make a decision on what BPMS to recommend in the very near future. Aris Process live is the superior tool for creating models, however as it stands right now I cannot utilize the diagrams other than cutting and pasting into PowerPoint and I would not need the Aris suite to do that.

Hi Mark,

thanks a lot for the feedback - we appreciate it very much and will check the feasibility for Process Live. So maybe, we are able to consider the feedback with the next release update. But before, I have some questions:

publish full model including all related models and subprocesses,

--> Only the diagram or as well information about objects, attributes etc.?

publish to different destinations besides PDF such as MSWord, SharePoint and Wiki, and

--> I do understand what you want to do with DOC(X) or e.g. XLS(X) as alternative standard output formats but directly publishing to SharePoint or a Third Party wiki is a hard task; so if you let me know which standard output formats you require, I'll check what is feasible

control the output format to match my company documentation standards

--> Within the ARIS on premise environment, you have the full configuration options to control and change the documentation standards. Within Process Live it is standardized but we are of course learning what you need in terms of a standard. Would it help you to have the formats PDF, DOC(X) and XLS(X) always available as alternative options (if it does make sense for a specific report)?

Best regards

Dominik

Dominik,

Thank you very much for your reply. Let me clarify each of my requests per your inquiry.

1) my request is for all information, in essence replicating the Create Process Manual report for each related model in a single report. NOTE yesterday I noticed that the model diagram is not included in this report. To be complete it needs to be included (the Process Manaual report presents the model diagram *only*)

2) I mention direct publishing to SharePoint and Wiki because other BPMS like BizAgi do that. Those are very desirable features, although not critical. See 3) for my thoughts on MSWord.

3) If I could output to MSWord while selecting the template to use where I would be able to edit a ProcessLive.DOT  Word Template then I could do the hard work of adjusting formatting for my own needs.

If I could have the Create Process Manual with diagrams in a way that I could shape the output (MSWord DOC/DOT) that would be the starting point that I need. As Process Live grows I would expect more reports to be added (and I could suggest several).

I could email a sample report if that would help. Please contact me by email.

Thanks again.

Mark
