University Relations proudly presents the winner of our Innovation World 2014 Idea Contest! The contest saw a large number of high-quality applications.
This year’s winner, students from the Georgia Institute of Technology, USA, Utkarsh Garg and Shyamak Aggarwal, will receive up to $10,000 to present their showcase at Innovation World 2014 from October 13th-15th in New Orleans.
Their “Crowdsourcing Disaster Relief System” uses Software AG´s Smart Big Data and Analysis solutions Terracotta and Apama as well as webMethods for process automation and integration. It aims to create a colossal network of hospitals, doctors, volunteers, and humanitarian organizations, ensuring fast medical and logistical help after disasters such as hurricanes, floods, or earthquakes.
The runner-up is the team from RWTH Aachen in Germany, with their idea to prevent sudden cardiac death. In third place, we have a tie between Widener University in the US, with their program to improve athletic performance, and the University of California, Berkeley, also in the US, with their crowdsourcing recruitment platform.
Each of the four universities will receive the chance to present their idea at Innovation World 2014 from the 13th-15th of October in New Orleans.
University Relations would like to thank all participants for their innovative submissions. We´re looking forward seeing you at Innovation World 2014!
If you think you have an idea that is just as good, or better, don’t forget to participate in our CeBIT 2015 Idea Contest!
