Hi,
After reinstalling my PC with Windows 10 I have reinstalled Aris, but have not been able to start Aris Architecht & Designer 9.8 successfully like it used to do before the Windows upgrade. I get the error message "Unable to find Java Runtime Environment in the specified directory. Please check the value of 'jvmPath' in launcher.cfg and try again."
The default path (before changes) is where the jre folder is. I have changed jvmPath to the place Java is, but that does not help either. (Now I have changed it back.)
This used to work fine on Windows 7. What could be the problem?
Environment:
Windows version: Windows 10, 1703 Creators Update, Build 15063.
Java: Version is 8 Update 131.
Regards,
Dag
Hi Dag,
looks like there is a problem with the java process on your machine.
As a workaround, please create a file named "startaris.cmd" in the folder "C:\SoftwareAG\ARIS9.8\client" (if this is the installation folder) with this content (this is just one line):
start .\jre\bin\javaw -Xmx700m -XX:+DisableExplicitGC -XX:+UseParallelGC -XX:+UseParallelOldGC -Xss4m -Dsun.java2d.d3d=false -Djava.util.Arrays.useLegacyMergeSort=true -Dsun.security.krb5.debug=true -Dsun.security.spnego.debug=true -cp .\lib\y-aris-client-webstart.jar com.aris.modeling.client.loader.AArisLoader configuration ARIS
Bye,
Frank
Thanks Frank,
Your workaround solved the problem with not being able to start Aris Architecht & Designer 9.8, as long as I start with the suggested cmd file.
My only problem now is that the records in the database seem to be empty. But that has happened once before, I am told. We will investigate that issue further tomorrow.
Regards,
Dag
