I have a suggestion for ARIS developers to improve how Group objects appear within ARIS connect.

Within our BPMN collaboration diagrams, we use the group object to show parts of the process that may be not quite finalised or is awaiting sign-off.  We do most of our modelling using ARIS Designer however our consumers use ARIS Connect to view the model.

Within ARIS connect, if the Group object is arranged 'on top' of objects then viewers cannot click onto those objects to view the properties of the object.  If we move the Group object so that it is 'behind' the objects, then this can be done, however this is a manual edit that often gets forgotten.  The only way to determine if this has been done is to look at it within View only mode.

For example, in the below screenshot, if I click on "Example task" I only get the properties for "Example group" because that group is "on top" of the task.  If I want to view the properties for the task, I need to go into edit mode, and move the task so that it is in front of the Group.  It looks the same in Connect or Designer - the only time we can see a difference is when we try and view it within 'View mode' in Connect.  This is quite a manual task

Is there any way that the Group object can be updated so that any objects within the group can be clicked onto?  So, if you want to view the Group properties, you can still click on the border or the "Example group" words.  However, if you want to see the "Example task" properties, you can click on the task object regardless if the group is in front of the objects?

Thanks for considering!

Hello,

I am facing the same kind of issue with the View mode from the Portal in Aris Connect.

I have written a report with ARIS Script that creates a model, embeds occurences in another one depending on their level within a group and sets a higher Z order to the embedded occurences so they can be seen in the foreground.

It works well when we view the model in Edit mode :

However, in View mode from the Portal, some embedded occurences randomly get behind the embedding one :

The only way to fix it is by manually editing the model and moving things to the foreground.

Thank you for your help !
