Hello David,

the description attribute is a pure text area field type which may be used for further (diagram) information. Unfortunately, it is not possible to add a table in this attribute.

But, there is another possibility to add a table/document:

  • Add your MS Word document to the Process Live repository
  • open the properties page of the document and copy the link which is shown within the page (not the one in the location bar of the browser)
  • paste this link into the "Link 1" attribute of the model

When you click on the link in the attributes panel, the document should be opened. In case you want to see the link directly in your model, you can create an attribute placement for the "Link 1" attribute at the model. Then you should also maintain the "Title 1" attribute in order to get a friendly name for the link instead of the URL. You can then open the link by double-clicking on the placed attribute.

Kind regards,

Alexandra

Hi David,

The way we achieve this is to use the Documentation attribute available since (I think) ARIS 7.2. Here you store the document within the ARIS repository and can open and view the document with the table while using ARIS.

The other advantage is that you can include the document in your reports. So no links and everything is together :)

We found that links can be unreliable, as people sometimes moves the documentation in shared folders without realising that they are changing dependencies. This leads to project teams having to update their links, etc, etc.

This will probably have an impact on your storage usage on your server, so check with your technical people...

Rgs,
Francois

Hello Francois,

the documentation attribute is a good opportunity to store documents in ARIS 7 or 9.

Unfortunately, that attribute is not available in Process Live.

Alexandra
