Hello ARIS community,
1. I am looking for an ARIS 7.02 solution that will migrate to 7.1.
2. In our Application System Type objects we use the link 1 attribute to provide a link to the application. This works very well for web based applications, however it does not work well for regularly installed applications on our PCs.
2.a. I am populating (for example) the Application Word with the link attribute winword.exe.
3. If I go into ARIS and F7 (run) the application it launches Word with no problems.
4. In our ARIS reports which produce a Word based output the system does not populate the attribute correctly. (see attached picture)
5. Any suggestions?
In ARIS
In resulting Word output
Hi Donald,
it seems, you have taken the attribute text content ("Winword.exe") directly as it is and wrote it to the output document using OutputLink. OutputLink needs the protocol to determine whether it is a document-local link or an external link (file, web resource, mail address), so simply add the protocol "file://" to the output and it should behave like inside ARIS.
BR,
Torsten
Torsten,
I have tried this and get different errors now:
ARIS= "file://excel.exe"
word document output= on mouseover file:///\\excel.exe
word document output when I edit hyperlink "\\excel.exe"
in my wimdows run dialog box "excel", "excel.exe" will both cause Excel to run. Neither of the above 2 output formats will cause excel to run.
Any other formatting suggestions?
thanks
donald
