Good day,

I have a challenge in restoring ARIS 7.1 database into ARIS 9.5. Is there anything that I must do?

I get the message that "Unable to restore the database".

You help will be appreciated.

Regards,

France

Hi,

please contact your support. Please give them all data they need to reproduce the issue, including the adb file.

Bye,

I had the same problem and was told that ARIS 9.5 cannot restore from ARIS 7.1 and that you needed to restore to ARIS 7.2 and THEN to ARIS 9.5. I'm having other installation issues and can't confirm this. I would be interested in the answer you find. We are currently using ARIS 7.1 and are migrating to ARIS 9.5

Thanks Frank and Dave,

I actually managed to restore my 7.1 database to 9. I think at first I had some memory issues but I am not so sure. Finally it worked and the Filter too. The content comes with the same symbols like you had on 7.x.

What's left for me is the question of how to convert from old symbols to the new ARIS 9 symbols. I guess this is gonna be a cracker. Frank do you think I must send the database to the SoftwareAG support for conversion?

Dave try to restore it again when you have minimum services running on the server perhaps it will work. But I also understand that it works better if you restore to 7.2 first then to 9.5

Hi,

We are currently using ARIS 7.2 and are migrating to ARIS 9.6. We have 5 databases in our Organization and I have restored 4 databases, but unable to restore 1 database with backup file size 570 MB. There is no space issue and I have increased the table space as well. Please find the attached screenshots for the same.

Thanks in advance.

Regards,

Sarayu

Hi Sarayu,

Database migration from 7.2 to 9.6 in that dimension is a known problem. If you cannot upgrade to 9.7 you should call the support.

Thanks,

Frank
