Many large companies are re-defining their BPM(S) strategy and ARIS / ALM roadmap. They use the SAP BPM framework to define their own BPM project portfolio.

The book “SAP BPM framework : customer cases” describes the use of BPM / ARIS within a SAP environment using SAP and non SAP products and how these have been applied within an organization.

The authors of this book are 16 BPM experts who are specialized in one of the BPM process areas of the SAP BPM framework. The companies that have contributed to this book are: CSM, Philips, DSM, KLM, Dutch Railways, Bavaria, Tata Steel, Achmea, Ministry of Dutch Defense, Kuwait Oil, SAP, Capgemini, ERIKS and Software AG.

The BPM strategy of SAP is explained by the BPM strategy & transformation manager from SAP (Ann Rosenberg) and the BPM strategy manager from Capgemini (Ard-Jan Vethman) explains why the key competitive capability of companies will be to continuously improve their business model and BPM governance to find new revenue streams.

The authors of this book have presented their use cases during the BPM theme day of the dutch BPM user group of SAP, and this book consolidates their use cases in more detail.

The SAP BPM Framework contains 16 BPM areas, for which most company have 16 separate project portfolio's with 16 different stakeholders. The objective of the SAP BPM framework is to create an integrated SAP BPM roadmap and allign the stakeholders within your organization.

Many books and blogs have been published on the principles of BPM / ARIS like business process improvement (using e.g. Six Sigma) and optimizing business process performance (using e.g. Process Performance Management).
