Not able to install ARIS express due to my old version of Java 1.5.0 (build 1.5.0_09-b03). Thales IT systems have advised that this older version is required in order to run our version of Lotus Sametime.

Hi Greg,
we are sorry, but we can't really help you here. ARIS Express requires Java 1.6.10 or above. It is not possible to run it on any version released before.
You might want to check if you are allowed to use a virtual operating system image, where you can deploy ARIS Express.
