Hi guys,

I tried to search the forum to find out but still I have to ask:

I am currently working with ARIS Express 2.3 and the long-term plan is to export these files to a profesional ARIS version. So if different parts of a model are linked to each other, will I be able to keep the links in the professional version or will I have to do the linking all over again?

Tanks a lot!

Helene

Hello Helene,

the links are stored in an attribute, which is kept, but not converted. So, if your want to keep this linking between models, you need to create assignments to keep the linking.

Frank

Hi Frank,

thank you for the quick reply! Do you mean it's a question of how I migrate the models? How would I create assignments to keep the linking? Is there a tutorial illustrating this?

Thanks again!

Helene

Hi Helene.

No, there is no tutorial about this, but creating assignments is very easy.

You just select the object in the modeling pane, select the context menu and choose "Assignments...". Here, you can select the model you want to have as assignment.

But be aware, that the ARIS method is more restricted regarding the assignments, whereas the links of ADF files is completely free of any type restriction.

Bye,

Frank

Hi Frank, I have a question about this, is it possible "migrate" the content of ADF file to Aris Professional avoinding most of manual efforts?

Do you have some tutorial about this?

Many tks!
