Hi all,
I have a scenario in which a doctor is serving the same role at three different locations at different times of the day. How do I schedule its calendar? If I create three calendar events for the three locations, left-over work from one location is carried on into hours of the subsequent location, which is not the case on ground, e.g. if two patients are generated tokens in first location , and the shift time ends, the examination procedure carries on into next shift's hours which is supposed to be on a different location. Any ideas on how to resolve this?
If the real world schedule does not map to the calendar event schedule, I simply state: calendar events are not appropriate.
Based on how I interpret your text, your problem is to generate work task reports. The doctor performs a task and documents that task.
My suggestion is:
1. at the start of a new task the doctor creates a new task document, i.e. presses the "new task" button [sets the start time field]
2. the doctor chooses the location, you might use the planned schedule to set the default location [sets the payroll field]
3. the doctor performs the task and simultaneous documents the task [sets the description field]
4. the doctor presses the "finished" button as soon as the task is finished [sets the end time field]
Just my 2 cents.
Greetings,
Carsten Pitz
Thanks for your suggestion, Carsten. I found a workaround by creating three schedules for the three locations, and assigning them to the role per requirement. It's tedious if I need to run simulations for all locations (changing the assignments EVERY time!), but for now I got the results I wanted.
