Hi,
We are creating a own model header for our processes.
The attributes required in that model header is Name, Type, Last change, last user, person responsible, description & model path/location.
We have found all attributes except for model path. Is there an existing attribute type that generates the model path where the model is located if not what data type do a use when creating a new attribute to be able to retrieve data automatically when a process change location for example from development folder to production folder.
Thanks,
Hi,
there is no such attribute type, since the location in the group structure is not a property of the model. You would have to change the attribute (and hence the model), if you moved the model. Let's say on approval you version the model and move it to some other group for publication. Either the attribute would be incorrect or the (approved) state of the model would have changed.
Usually the group structure is transparent to the readers, because they don't navigate through the group structure but through the models and the links between them (assignments). The main purpose of the group structure is controlling access permissions for the models and objects inside them. It is a huge effort, if you constantly keep the group structure in sync with the process hierarchy for example. It would be sufficient to keep the processes in one place for each process owner (ok, very simplified, depends on whether there are other roles involved with differentiated access permissions).
If you really want to go that way, you probably make up a text attribute and find some automated way of updating that attribute all the time (e. g. nightly report).
