Hi

In my project, we have a requirement to present the documentation to client in two langauges -English and Arabic.

I have an aris repository in english which can create documents in english. But i cannot change the language to Arabic. Even though I changed, it still shows english. I tried other languages like french and chinese and it works out fine.

Are there some conditions for it - like i need to download the font or something?

My procedure - Change the language in the 'login wizard' window, while logging into the database.

Please advise

Regards

Hi Nelson,

in the screenshot, you can see the language identifier ("EN") at the end of the group or model names. This is only the case, if the names are not maintained in your "database maintainance language". Therefore, the system tries to load a fallback: the "alternative language". This is english, per default. In previous versions of ARIS not providing this feature, your would see "(unnamed)".

The database used for the screenshot is our demo database, Is that right? This database is not translated into arabic. Thus, the alternative language is used to avoid displaying "(unnamed) ".

Bye,

Frank

Hello Nelson,

I assume the attributes of your database content (e.g. group, model and objects names) are only maintained in English at the moment? In this case it is normal that you see the content in English. English is the alternative language after installation. Alternative language means that the English attribute value will be used if the attribute is not maintained in the language used at login, shown by the (EN) after the name.

What you have to do is to maintain the complete content in Arabic too as you've done this already for the main folder. There are two reports supporting this in ARIS Business Architect: "Export attribute values for translation" (to be started on main group of database) and "Import translated attributes" to be started on database item itself.

Regards

Uwe
