A strong IoT technology partner ecosystem will allow Software AG to address more IoT use cases and emphasizes our IoT Framework strategy. The role needs to be able to explore new technology areas in depth and create meaningful new ideas and methods based on combinations of new and existing technologies.


  • Carry out IoT market research and competitor intelligence
  • Serve as a key technology expert in collaborative outside research and feasibility evaluations
  • Establish in-depth knowledge of the technology and organization of an identified supplier
  • Analyze IoT use cases, business models, customer paint points and requirements
  • Establish new relationships and technology networks with external companies, suppliers, universities, research organizations, etc.
  • Create meaningful new ideas and methods based on combinations of new and existing technologies
  • Evaluate propositions or hypotheses and make judgements on the basis of well-supported evidence
  • Apply scientific research principles and practices
  • Effectively communicate and present technical complex content to different audiences
  • Provide technology analysiswith a high-level of accuracy in an appropriate format for the target audience, with a self-driven work attitude sticking to given timelines


  • Master degree in computer science, natural sciences, engineering or a related area
  • Good knowledge of:
    • Product Management & Strategy
    • Innovation Management and Design Thinking
    • IoT market, use cases, and relevant technologies
  • Special knowledge (desireable): 

    • Industrie 4.0
    • Industrial Engineering
    • Product Marketing
  • IT Skills:

    • Cloud technologies and platforms (SaaS, PaaS)  and business models
    • Data Management and Data Analytics
    • Big Data and Open Source Frameworks (Hadoop, Spark, ...)
    • Agile software development
    • Product development and lifecycle management
  • Languages:

    • English mandatory
    • German desirable
