Hi,

I would like to remove an attribute from an object I am using.  I thought it would be possible to go through explorer module>select objects>select attribute wizard>delete attributes.  However, when I follow this process the attribute remains and appears to have made no change.

Can someone please advise the correct process for amending attributes assigned to objects?

Regards

Scott

You can always hide unmaintained attributes for objects.

Right Click on the object --> Properties  --> Attributes

You can choose whether to hide attributes if it's not maintained or Always  be careful b/c <Always> will hide the attributes from all the objects, even if it's maintained.

My apologies, I do not know why three identical comments were created by this ARIS CMS (Content Management System). By the way, I am using chrome browser.

Hi,

Thanks for providing this information.  I'll give it a go, however it does feel as though I should be able to remove the attribute from the object.

Regards

Scott

Both Yes and No

Yes : You can completely remove attributes from ARIS database from Configuration --> Methods right click on the attribute and remove it but only user-defined attributes can be removed

No: Pre-defined attributes that shipped with ARIS can not be removed from Methods

Other way around, is to use Filters, you can filter-out any attribute for any object but again it's a tedious process and quick fix to your problem is to hide un-maintained attributes.

regards,

Adnan

Thanks for your appreciation, I hope you will like the series of article.

Publishing content on Publisher Server depends upon filters setting + maintained attributes it has nothing to do with what you see/visible on ARIS Designer

Simple response to  your query:

Attributes you will see on Publisher Server = Maintained Attributes for that object/model (-minus)                                                                                Filtered out attributed

This is the way ARIS publishing work. All the maintained attributes will be pushed to Publisher Server even if you hide/show them in the designer.

Thanks Adnan. While I'm aware of the logic of (Maintained attributes - filtered out attributes), I wanted to confirm that the options, you referred to, in Designer have no role to play in Publishing process.
