installing the last AEP-PDA release for this next academic year, i have a java error when starting the web client...
All is OK with ARIS client, but i have the following error with web client (FF)...

this is a bug in the JRE. In the new JRE, blanks in the path lead do this problem. We reacted on that bug by providing a fix.

Yes, updating is always a bit cumbersome. For sure, the setup is able to do an update, but I do not know exactly how powerful it is considering the download installation on the server. Therefore I would recomment do ask Software AG support... maybe this would be easier, because you'd only need to exchange the jar.

The update can be done on your virtual maschine.

You downloaded the AEP PDA I guess. Do you use the faculty or the Students version?

yes, AEP PDA... it's all ok with ARIS client in the VM, but not with web client
it's the faculty release, to be able to use (as last year) the ARIS server with web client...

for test, web client on VM... but the aim is of course to use web client from students computers
taking in account your question, i've made a test since another computer... strangely for me, it's different... no error on jre path, but i realise that the ARIS server is in fact not started. And when i try to start ARIS server, i have errors....pbs of rights... ???

the jre path error occurs when using web client both on the VM and on any other computer...

we built a fix for our PDA VM v. 1.4. You can it find the HERE ( use the same credentials like the VM Download )
With this patch our web client from the PDA maschine should work with the last Java versions.
