I have searched the forums for Visio imports, and I only found one thread which is *not* about ARIS Express: https://www.ariscommunity.com/users/venky-ril/2015-02-09-import-epc-models-visio-files-vdx-aris-97
It doesn't expressly talk about my issue, so I am starting a new post. How do I import a *.vdx file into ARIS Architect 10? In Explorer view, we only have an option to import an ArchiMate file. Inside a BPMN 2.0 diagram, we can only import a graphic. Where can you actually initiate a Visio import?
Hi,
here there are a few links to posts where I commented on the topic:

Also consult the online Help. Search for "Visio". Most important part is configuring the import in a "mapping.xml" file, where you specify the mapping from the drawing types to model types, stencil names to symbol types and combinations of connected stencils to connection types. For many cases the default mapping.xml has appropriate settings, but if something does not work out as expected, that is the place to fine-tune the import. And don't worry, there is a graphical editor for the mapping.xml, so you do not have to edit the XML code.
