Hi,
I want to know how to create definition copies of entire models within the same database of ARIS Cloud Advanced so the copy is independent of its original. I created the as-is process models, and since the to-be models are only different in certain parts, I want to make a definition copy of all these models in the same database, and then modify them in the required places. Please let me know how to accomplish this.
If this is not possible, what is the workaround?
Thanks and Regards,
- Siva.

Hi
You can create a copy of the model via the "copy" button in the repository view.
see attached screenshot

Hi Christoph,
I am aware of how to make copies of the model. The problem I am facing is that the objects in the copied models are occurrence copies, and hence when I make a change in them, the objects in the original model get changed too. As mentioned in my original question, I want to make definition copies of entire models instead of occurrence copies.
Thanks and Regards,
- Siva.
This feature is available with ARIS Cloud Enterprise. With ARIS Cloud Basic/ Advanced you have to create the feinition copies of the object separately.

Hi Christoph,
Thanks. Is there a way to select one or more objects in a model and change them from an occurrence copy to a definition copy please?
Thanks and Regards,
- Siva.
You can mark several objects in the model and copy them as definition copy via the "paste as..." symbol. YOu can also copy an object as definition copy in the repository view.
But I 'm not sure what you mean with this question:
" change them from an occurrence copy to a definition copy please?"
regards
Christoph
Hi Christoph,
What I mean is that we have already created copies of models, and all the objects in those models are currently occurrence copies. I want to know if there is a way to remove the dependency between those copies and convert all of them into definition copies.
Thanks and Regards,
- Siva.
Hi SIva
No. You have the possibility to create a new copy as definition copy and to remove the occurences afterwards
