Remotely add or update an ARIS report

Hi,

Is there a way to add or update an ARIS report script remotely, i.e. without having to open Architect & Designer?

The idea is to be able to maintain a list of scripts in GitHub and to deploy them to the client's server without having to access the server itself.

Dear Teodor,

Importing report scripts via GUI based tools is available in ARIS Architect and ARIS Tenant Management. For your use I guess only the command line based tool ARIS Server Administrator seems worth to look into. It's located as batch script in folder \server\bin\work\work_abs_<sizing>\tools\arisadm\arisadm.bat

I am not aware that we offer a web service for importing report scripts.

Hello Teodor,

as the script export from Aris is a *.arx file in zip format, how do you manage the upload to Git?

Is there a solution to unzip and zip the package on the fly so you can control the source code as plain text files in Git?

Hi Martin,

Nothing's automated yet, but I'm currently storing both the .arx file and a plain text version of the script in Git. I'm still not sure which one I'll end up using or even if the whole idea is feasible.
