I am looking for a report which returns an excel overview of all reports/macros/semantic checks including the following information:
- Available for users
- Available in Connect
- Category
- Name
- Description
- Output formats
- Imports
- Last date the report has run
I already found a report giving the first 7 pieces of information (see attachment), but the latest item (8), which is for me the most important, is not shown. I have already asked one of our very senior consultants but he also does not know of any report giving this result. He even doubts if this can be made.
You in this forum are my last help line. Can anyone help me?
Hi,
I would be quite amazed if this information is stored anywhere... The only way would be that you change ALL other reports so they write their last run time somewhere in a text file or something like it.
BR Robert
Thanks Robert,
I am wondering, in Connect you can see after you have run a report which report you ran. This information is therefore stored somewhere. Undoubtedly, the date and time is also stored at that moment, isn't it?
Kind regards,
Sylvia
That is because the result file is stored on the Connect server until you download it and that file has got some file system properties. The server cannot know, if you ever will collect the created file. On the rich client the file is downloaded to your hard disk directly and the server forgets about it.
But indeed you could have your reports maintain a file in the report folder for example and store the execution date there - at least the scripted reports.
Hi,
Thanks for your reaction. I will try for a feature request in Empower/Brainstorm like Martin suggests.
With kind regards,
Sylvia
Hello Sylvia,
timestamps of report/macro/semantic check execution are logged on the server in
server\bin\work\work_abs_m\base\webapps\abs\log\jsreport.log
with the script's GUID. So this could be raw data for statistical evaluation.
Like Robert suggested there is an older script solution based on Aris 7 which adds a separate log file. But I am not sure whether the method Context.getTempPath() (= path on the server) is still valid.
From an admin point of view your request is a nice use case for a UMC admin dashboard (reports executed per period, most used reports), but then SAG should provide the necessary feed of event data.
Are you up to starting a feature request in Empower/Brainstorm?
Regards, Martin
Hi Martin,
Thanks for your reaction. I will do that (put in a feature request in Empower/Brainstorm). When I have done so, I will ask people to vote for this feature :-).
With kind regards,
Sylvia
All,
If anyone is also interested in this report, I have logged a feature request in Empower/Brainstorm (#06540). Please vote for it.
With kind regards,
Sylvia
