hello community,

We are experiencing a problem when creating a publication in ARIS. The models that we publicate have several items in their title bar when in architect, but not all of these items are shown in the publication. and to make it even stranger, the missing items differ from model to model.

in the title bar we have a title, a model type, a revision number and date. but in the publication sometimes the title is missing, sometimes the publication date, sometimes the publication number, or even several of them.

does anyone know how to resolve this problem?

thanks in advance,

Bruno

Hi Bruno,

While I've not experienced this behavior (yet.....Goog Gosh! I already wish I didn't say that!), here's something I would try.

If not this way already, try selecting all the objects in the title bar and 'grouping' them. Then, after selecting the newly created 'group,' use the 'Bring Forward' button. (If it's alraedy a 'group,' just use the 'Bring Forward, button.)

Perhaps just give it a try on one of the models where this condition exists just to give it a test.

Good Luck,

Bob

Hi Bob,

Thanks for the suggestion. Unfortunately I already tried a similar thing and it did not solve the problem.

Then I looked into the SR7 release notes and found under items 10 of the publisher update the note "all placed attributes are properly displayed now". So I start to think that the solution could be found there. We have not yet updated to SR7.

But to be sure, I tried your suggestion and... no change.

I'll ask for the update.

Well -- we experience this problem as well.

After every publishing, the initial rounds of testing will have some Model header information (placed attributes) not getting displayed or some objects in the model not getting displayed or some models not opening up (will throw you out of publishing with an error).

And to Bob's point -- we also have our header elements grouped together but still the problem continues.

 And the mysterious part is

  • all these issues mostly gets resolved over time (some in hours -- as people try it again) -- except for few instances when we had to ask for republishing
  • Its completely haphazard & so far we have not been able to observe any pattern -- except that it happens after publishing & primarily for profiles that have privileges to some restricted models
  • Due to above points, not that easy to replicate and show to the support team
  • Support team has not been able to find much from the log files, as to what's going wrong

It will surely take few months before we can evaluate upgrading to SR7 or later releases and see whether this issue is really fixed. Thanks Bruno, anyways, for pointing out the possible fix in SR7.

Finally, we updated to SR08 (jumping SR07) and the problem was solved.

Hello

We are having a similar problem. Several connector lines are not visible in the published model.

Are you using ARIS version 7.1 ? We are using 7.1.0.452596

Thanks

Hello community,

We are having the same problem - the title and other model attributes are not appearing in the publisher. Downloading the latest service release after reading this post did not help!

Hello Natasha,

  • We are using Version 7.1.0.501900 (SR 2010_08).
  • Connectors not showing could be due to the filter that you use in your publication. Is it the same as the one you use for the design of the models?

Hello Veselin,

  • I guess you updated the publication after installing the latest service release. if not, this might solve the problem. Otherwise I don't know what could be the problem.

regards

Bruno

Hi Bruno,

Thank you for the tip. Indeed making a fresh publication of the database has resolved the problem. Cheers!

Hey Bruno,

Thanks for the tip as well. Been having that same problem as Veselin, but luckly I got to this same thread and your trick solved the problem, the database was causing the issue!

Thanks again!
