With sun being taken over by oracle and sap itself advocating or trying to promote abap versions of Netweaver lately....what will be the future of Java or particulary JVM? Since Aris is heavily dependent of Java - what if oracle decides to kill java in future?

Hi Vishy,

currently, not much is known about Oracle's plans for Java. As ARIS is heavily based on Java, it would indeed be disastrous if Oracle decided to kill Java. But seeing the number of Java applications and devices, this would be a stupid move by Oracle, so I don't think this will happen.

Now, with Java 7 on the horizon, we are looking forward to the new features this new release will offer developers. Of course, we will monitor Oracle's action closely.

Regards,

Markus
