Hi everyone,

I want to send an email using report. And I have found this in forum

https://www.ariscommunity.com/users/amol/2011-10-11-how-send-email-using-aris-script

Maybe it's a stupid question, but how could I find the SMTP server address in Aris 10?

Thanks

Hi,

your SMTP server address should be something that someone in your organization knows, it's not something that is ARIS specific.

Your ARIS server should also have been configured in a way it can send e-mails (e.g. for sending notifications to administrators when licenses run low). You can try finding the smtp server address there, if you have access rights for configuring those setting:

Open your ARIS connect portal and log in > click on your name in the top right corner and click on "Administration" > the configuration has a sub-tab called "User management", switch to that > in the left menu bar there should be a bullet point SMTP, click on the arrow next to it and click on the "Connection" sub-bullet point > On the right it should say "Host name" somewhere, that's the smtp address.

Thanks very much !!!!!!!!! I found it.

I try to run the code, there exist still some problems. I get the error 535 AUTH failed when it runs to the smtpTransport.connect(m_server, "", "");

Do you know how to solve it?

Thanks again!

I don't know your specific circumstances/your specific in-organization smtp configuration.

However I can give you some general pointers, because we used a similar script to the one you found with ARIS 9 and it refused to work when we switched to ARIS 10, so I had to customize it.

^ Take a look at this, maybe it helps you. I'm not the original creator of the script - that was a script I found here on the forum - but I did a bit of customization to make it do what I want it to do.
