Hallo,
nachdem mir per mail dei Lizenschlüssel "ARIS Architect for students" und "PD&A for students" zugesandt worden waren, habe ich durch das Kopieren des Links
ftp://aris.softwareag.com/released/ARIS_96x/ARIS_Client/ARIS_Client_96_0_1_1_882262.zip
in meinen Browser Firefox das Aris Client Setup heruntergeladen (4.084.873 KB).
Außerdem habe ich über den Link
http://aris.softwareag.com/ARISDownloadCenter?detail=Y&groupname=ARIS%20Education%20Package&language=en
das Package : AEP_PDA_Materials.zip laden können.
Für die Exercises habe ich vier einzelne Dateien über die links auf der Seite
http://www.ariscommunity.com/university/downloads/aris-design-and-analysis
ebenfalls heruntergeladen.
Die beiden *.zip-Pakete habe ich so entpackt, dass sie als Verzeichnis in meinem Ordner C:\\Download liegen, in dem auch die vier anderen Dateien gespeichert sind.
Anschließend habe ich aus dem Windows-Explorer heraus (Windows 7 Home Premium) die Datei Setup aus dem entpackten Ordner des ARIS Client gestartet.
Bei den Komponenten habe ich immer den Haken bei ARIS Architect/Designer gesetzt und je nach Lizenz auch bei UML oder Administrator. Nach der Eingabe der Lizenzschlüssel startete auch jeweils das Setup-Programm und wurde nach einer Zeit inaktiv. Trotz längerer Wartezeit zeigten sich keine Veränderungen und im Task-Manager wurde für denInstallations- Prozess dauerhaft eine CPU-Auslastung von 00 angezeigt. Daraufhin habe ich den zugehörigen Task beendet. Vor dem nächsten Installationsversuch habe ich dann den Rechner neu gestartet, weil mit dem Schließen des Tasks nicht alle zugehörigen Prozesse beendet wurden. Diese Prozesse enthielten im Dateinamen die Buchstabenfolge "java". Daher habe ich versuchsweise java aktualisiert. Doch auch dadurch wurde nicht erreicht, dass sich ARIS Client 9.6 vollständig installierte.
Was muss ich bei dem Installationsvorgang ändern, damit ich entweder "ARIS Architect for Students" oder "PD&A for Students" auf meinem Rechner nutzen kann?
Ist es auch möglich, beide Lizenzschlüssel gleichzeitig zu nutzen?

because I’ve got no answer on my request formulated in German I’ll put the questions again in English.
After I got my license keys “Aris Architect for students” and “PD&A for students” by mail, I copied the link ftp://aris.softwareag.com/released/ARIS_96x/ARIS_Client/ARIS_Client_96_0_1_1_882262.zip pasted it into the browser Firefox, and downloaded the Aris Client Setup (4.084.873 KB).
Using the link http://aris.softwareag.com/ARISDownloadCenter?detail=Y&groupname=ARIS%20Education%20Package&language=en (link is external) Idownloaded the Package “AEP_PDA_Materials.zip”.
And using the four links below the heading “Materials” on the page http://www.ariscommunity.com/university/downloads/aris-design-and-analysis I downloaded four files.
I unzipped both *.zip-Packages into the directory “C:\Users\Elisabeth\Downloads” where the downloaded four files are also stored.
After that I double-clicked in Windows-Explorer (Windows 7 Home Premium) filename Setup.exe, located in the unzipped directory “C:\Users\Elisabeth\Downloads\ARIS_Client_96_0_1_1_882262\ARIS Client”
When asked to choose the components, I always chose ARIS Architect/Designer and dependent on license key used “UML” or “Administrator”. Then the Setup started. But some time later it got inactive. There were no more changes in the setup-window and the task-manager showed for the setup-process a CPU utilization of 00. So I stopped the setup-task. Before trying the next setup I shut down the PC because some processes – containing the letters “java” - were still “active” after I stopped the setup-task and prevented a second start of setup.exe. I downloaded the new version of java, but the setup-process still didn’t run successfully.
What’s wrong with my way to install ARIS Client 9.6?
Is it possible to use both licenses at the same time?

I have read both blogs , german & english , but sorry I can't help you at this time because I am a newbie in aris and my skill focus today on server admin not client end user tools AND (!) we have the OLD version 7 on win2008 later version 9 of aris on linux on another company division - you cantry to connect Mr Danny Brüser from DB Systel GmbH if you can connect him over this blog in this community
Nice to hear from you in this community too , your problem sounds as java detail , and its genaral NOT recommend to STOP and interrupt a installation process in windows , because the registry opration every win install makes !
So you may be have complicated the unique problem with your action - see the logs and speak about it with a aris vendor profi please and then you have success or make a suppot call when you have a lizenz contract with the vendor SAG over empower portal ...in which aris products are linked !
